Violist Kunjing Dai, originally from Anhui, China, is currently a doctoral student at the Bienen School of Music, studying with Professor Helen Callus under the Eckstein Scholarship. She holds a Bachelor of Music in viola performance from the Juilliard School under Professors Hsin-Yun Huang and Misha Amory, and a Master of Music from Rice University with Professor James Dunham. Kunjing is a devoted chamber and orchestral player and has recently appeared at festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, the Bowdoin Fellowship Program, and the Garth Newel Music Center Fellowship Program. She will be joining the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for their coming season. As a dedicated solo player, she has attended masterclasses offered by Roberto Díaz, Paul Silverthorne and others. Kunjing’s music passions have also taken her on a journey of teaching, art management, and translations of music related articles.
